AI and psychology

Can we as doctors collaborate with to Al reduce the workload of a therapist by being an aid for deeper understanding of patient's psychology? I've been working with Al as an aid to work collaboratively for my patients. My quest was to understand my patients better as they were older than me and I was young. At that time it was a task for me to get into the shoes of my patients and to really empathise with their fears and worries. This was the time when Al came into my life. Initially I wasn't good with my phone doing my job but after sometime I got proficient. I would use the exact same words my patients would use and then ask Al to interpret it for me. This simple practice helped me deepen my understanding of what the circumstances might have been for my patients. I would ask a lot of questions to Al about the situation to get a grip of that situation. Soon after this I started noticing changes in my interaction with my patients which I believe is the reason I recomm...

Research

Can research in alternative medicine reduce the mortality and morbidity rate and if so how do we increase its effectiveness? Research paper and medical writing in general feel incredibly important because it's clear that language is going to be a terrain where a substantial part of fight is going to be about: what do you call this particular medicinal plant, can people use it, how much should they use it, does it cause toxic side effects. I think what AYUSH doctors can do or can try do is to use medical language with precision and care. We need our ancient systems to be more affluent in what they are ready to give. Now it depends on them if they want it to be vague words of wisdom or precise scientific reasoning. I am in my twenties and when I go to my hospital I feel this is what I lack as a doctor. It's not like I can't explain my treatment to my patients. It's just that sometimes I am not able to make my patients believe in my system of medicine.I'm interest...

On medicine and AI

I see a lot of development in the field of medicine by the use of artificial intelligence and we don't see a problem with a machine doing a doctor's job unless we realise the following: A doctor studies and develops the work ethic by sheer practice and years and years of it. It takes roughly seven plus years for a doctor to be where he/she is right now. I feel sad that a random Al tool can somehow replace a doctor! I find the success of social media in creating more misinformation than right knowledge phenomenonal!  One with low mood for a day can almost imagine themselves having depression. Thanks to the free information 3. Older literature in medicine survived because their kernels of insight and expression couldn't be replicated away just like the ghibli's art 4. Just like," The photographs of cathedral has no meaning without the cathedral itself." Similarly, no Al can ever match the experience of a doctor! 5. Symptoms help more in misdiagnosis than...

On fasting

The primary factor influencing health is a positive attitude towards fasting. Embracing fasting enhances our ability to exercise caution in selecting a suitable diet. The foundation of good health is rooted in fasting done with a sense of happiness. Regrettably, societal norms do little to foster peace of mind or comfort with dietary restrictions. Fasting is often perceived negatively, as an involuntary and temporary state, rather than a potentially desirable or necessary choice. This perception is fueled by a world influenced by food bloggers who constantly seek validation for their dietary choices. Advertising reinforces the notion that fasting means missing out, by showcasing images of joyful people indulging in food. Social events and venues often marginalize those who fast, either by overcharging or patronizing them. Being unhappy while fasting can impair our judgment about food choices. Desperation can lead to poor food decisions, much like the character in Dostoyevsky's st...

The search for a free expression…

How amazing it is to sit and meditate? What difference does it make if we were to meditate while we are in our place? Why does a job that is gonna pay for all of your expenses cause a majority part of your stress? Who are the people that carry a work life balance? Why do we seek balance when our brains are wired for conflict? Why do you even work if it affects your mental health? Do you think retired people are healthy because they don’t have jobs? What makes babies so carefree, restless, wild? How sane are you in love?

How we no longer think of people in business or politics or in life?

Business, politics and life are not about people. It is about shareholders values, market values and top-line and bottom line.  And that’s the biggest problem in the last hundred years. We look at people as merely tools to achieve something else. The purpose of life is about something else, not about people. We don’t see society centred on people. Industry centred on people. Enterprise centred on people. Somewhere along the lines people have just become instruments and we think like that. So when we talk about objective based management, the objective is not to make a great society, the objective is not to make a great organisation. That’s merely seen as a collateral benefit. The primary goal is top line, bottom line, Fortune 500 companies. The conversation is never about people. And if we see problems around the world whether it’s brexit, whether it’s donald trump. All these things are about people. When you go to threads or twitter the problems are about people.  Now ...

Why you would choose a wrong career

Why you would choose  an unfulfilling career  It is one of the things that could prove a nightmare if became our reality. We go great lengths to avoid such a fate. And yet we do it all the same: we choose an unfulfilling career. Partly, because we have a bewildering array of problems that emerge when we try to fall in love with all sorts of subjects that we encounter.  We seem enjoy only a limited number of subjects among those. And hence our grades suffer.  Perhaps we have a latent tendency to like something and hate things that disagree with with our beliefs or can read only the things that we are great with; perhaps we are tricky about being inferior when compared or we are too lazy to do the hardwork that is necessary for those unlikeble subjects. Nobody’s perfect. The problem is that before choosing our careers we rarely delve into our complexities. Whenever our casual failures threaten to reveal our flaws, we blame people and circumstances. As for our lo...
